He has links to Britain. He studied at Oxford University in the early 1990s and did a stint in Goldman's London office. His wife is English and his four children have dual British-Canadian citizenship. Mr Osborne noted Monday that as a Canadian, Mr Carney is a subject of Queen Elizabeth II.I suppose that that makes it all ok then for the UK to appoint a Canadian. I would have been interested to the reaction in the Australian press if a similar comment had been made about an Australian citizen.
